The Swan, Forest Row

The Swan, part of the Hush Heath Inns group, is the third pub refurbishment that we have undertaken for our client, following the success of the recently completed Hush Heath Winery project.

Refurbishment and alteration of a part listed historic pub in Forest Row, East Sussex. Works included the refurbishment and upgrading of the public restaurant and bar area, including a new commercial kitchen (new hygienic cladding, flooring, kitchen etc) and refurbished WC. Works also comprised the alteration and refurbishment of six en-suite bedrooms. Externally, we upgraded and tided up the building fascia including replacement of some doors, refurbishment of windows and replacement of some glass. We also undertook some landscaping works.

The pub its self is located just three miles from East Grinstead within the Forest Row area and is edged by the Ashdown Forest. Part of the building is recognised to be medieval. With a wealth of history, in its heyday the inn was popular with smugglers in the 18th century.
